Chelsea approach double whammy of £83m for Aubameyang and Gordon

Anthony Gordon Everton

Chelsea have made a £60m bid for Everton defender Anthony Gordon, and are close to a deal for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

The Blues have been strongly linked to Gordon in recent weeks after Thomas Tuchel identified him as one of his priority targets to bolster the front line. Tuchel has already split from Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer, and his team is currently 12th in the Premier League.

according to the athleteThe 21-year-old has informed top officials at Goodison Park of his desire to play for the Blues. The Englishman is keen to play in the Champions League. While he hasn’t broken into the Three Lions’ squad, Gordon feels that by impressing him at Stamford Bridge he could enter Gareth Southgate’s World Cup plans later this year.

He has personally spoken to Frank Lampard as well and both the club and the manager are said to respect his wishes. The personal terms between Gordon and the West Londoners are not said to be an issue, and Everton’s stance on not letting him leave is also said to be holding back.

Chelsea had already made two bids worth £40m and £45m knocked again by Toffees, but TalkSPORT He claims that a third offer of £50m up front plus £10m in add-ons has been on the table.

Gordon still has three years left on his contract and Everton are hesitant to lose him, but Evening Standard Chelsea says it is now confident of completing the deal before the window closes on September 1.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The newspaper says that Chelsea are also in advanced negotiations to sign Aubameyang from Barcelona. I had talks with representatives of the strikers last week where they persuaded him to move to Stamford Bridge.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmieri He says there is an agreement soon between the two clubs for Chelsea to pay an initial £19m plus a further £3.7m owed in add-ons, making the entire deal worth just under £23m.

This means Chelsea are now close to a double whammy for Gordon and Aubameyang that will set them back £83m as they continue to spend under new owner Todd Boehly.

we saw

Chelsea have only so far succeeded in adding Raheem Sterling to their attack this summer, and it is clear that Tuchel is in dire need of further reinforcements as his attacking power has been incompetent so far this season.

Gordon could be an exciting addition to the London side as it would broadly give Tuchel another option, and Aubameyang would be a powerful short-term solution to their illustrious issues.

The former Arsenal killer has proven in the Premier League, so he won’t need any time to settle in, and will be an experienced boss in the dressing room.

We’ll have to wait and see how things unfold but it looks like it will be a busy few days in west London before the window closes with Chelsea shutting down the Gordon and Aubameyang deals.
